Many seek to improve the size and shape of their breasts, desiring to feel more feminine and confident. During consultations we welcome the opportunity to discuss with patients their individual aesthetic goals. Pittman Plastic Surgery, in Athens, GA offers saline, silicone, or highly cohesive silicone gel breast implants, depending on your unique needs and desired feel. You’ll be most satisfied with the safety and proven results of each option.
Silicone implants consist of a silicone elastomer shell filled with silicone gel, which is similar in consistency to human fat. Saline implants are made with a silicone outer shell which is filled with sterile saline solution. Both types are safe and FDA approved. Dr. Pittman can further discuss the differences and help you decide which is best for you during a plastic surgery consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions about Breast Augmentation
Can I breastfeed after a breast augmentation or breast lift?
It is safe to breastfeed after a breast augmentation and/or breast lift. Most breast surgery approaches are compatible with breastfeeding. Breastfeeding challenges, although rare, can occur depending on the surgery performed. It’s important to be open with your plastic surgeon and discuss all of your questions regarding breast surgery and breastfeeding.
What are the different types of breast implant surgery incisions?
Inframammary – (under the breast), periareolar- (around the nipple), transaxillary- (in the armpit region), and transumbilical – (through the belly button). The type of incision selected for your breast surgery will depend upon the type of scar you’re comfortable with as well as plans for any ancillary breast procedures, such as breast lift, planned to be completed simultaneously.
