Treatment Plans for Breast Augmentation Surgery

According to statistics by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, breast augmentation has remained the most popular surgical procedure since 2006. Many women seek breast enhancement to increase the fullness and size of their breasts with the use of breast implants. Athens plastic surgeons Drs. Ed Pittman perform breast enhancement and other cosmetic procedures at their AAAHC accredited surgical center. Prior to the procedure, Dr. Pittman will meet each patient to discuss implant choices and thoroughly explain what to expect during and after surgery.

One of the first steps in planning breast augmentation surgery is choosing breast implants. At Pittman Plastic Surgery, Dr. Ed Pittman offer a variety of different breast implant shapes, sizes, and textures to fit each patient’s needs. Patients can choose among saline, silicone, and highly cohesive “gummy bear” silicone gel implants. Saline implants are made of silicone outer shells that are filled with sterile saline solution to enhance the breasts. Silicone and cohesive silicone implants are also composed of silicone outer shells, but they are filled with silicone gel. Dr. Pittman will discuss aesthetic needs and goals to to help patients decide which implants will best complement their body.

At Pittman Plastic Surgery, patient satisfaction and safety are our primary concern. During consultation, we allow our patients to “try on” different sized and shaped breast implants to visualize what results to expect. Patients can also bring certain clothing to try on with the implant sizers as well as discuss their options with friends and family. Dr. Pittman are also available to thoroughly answer any questions and discuss any procedure concerns to ensure we deliver the results patients are expecting and desiring.
