Maybe you’re trying to follow a healthy lifestyle, but you’re just not seeing your post-pregnancy stomach respond. Or perhaps you’re done with breastfeeding and you’re not 100% happy with how your breasts currently look. Whatever the reason, you want to undergo a Mommy Makeover surgery to get your pre-baby body back…
Your Mommy Makeover plastic surgeonmust be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). Without this certification, there’s no guarantee that your plastic surgeon has gone through the education, training, and rigor required to perform your surgery safely and to your desired results.
Your plastic surgeon should have his or her board certification handy. If he or she says that they’re board certified, make sure it’s by the right board!
2. Find an experienced Mommy Makeover surgeon.
Not everyone is an experienced Mommy Makeover surgeon, especially as the procedure just became popular a few years ago. You’ll want to find a plastic surgeon who has an excellent portfolio with results from real women. Ask to see that portfolio during your consultation and be sure to note if the results align with what you’re looking for.
3. Choose someone you’re comfortable with.
All the board certifications and awards in the world mean nothing if you don’t feel comfortable with your plastic surgeon. Pay attention to how he or she makes you feel during the initial consultation. Does your plastic surgeon put you at ease, or are you nervous to ask questions? Does he or she treat you in a dismissive manner, or does he or she take the time to make you feel fully informed about your decision to undergo surgery?
Your feelings matter – be sure to pay attention to them!
